Beginning Band (7th Grade)

Any student starting band in 7th grade will be part of one of our beginning band classes. We are fortunate enough to have three classes broke up into their designated groups;

Brass

Woodwinds

Percussion

We do this to ensure that our students are learning alongside like instruments to help give them the highest chance at success! It's always easier to learn when you have a team of instruments that work in similar ways!

Beginning band only has two concerts throughout their first year. One in the fall and one in the spring. That being said, other performance opportunities are presented in the spring semester. At the end of the year, we celebrate all of our accomplishments with  a trip to Holiday World! We encourage any students with an interest in band to start an instrument their first year at the middle school!

8th Grade Band

Our 8th grade group is where the real fun begins! Our student have mastered the basics and are now getting more opportunities than ever!

Our 8th grade group is broken up into two classes to ensure that each student gets the same amount of instruction. These students have four concerts each year. Two in the fall and two in the spring. They also have a number of chances to take on more challenges outside of school as well;

IU Young Winds

The All-Region Honor Ensemble

Solo and Ensemble

Side by Side performances with the High School

 One of our concerts take place at the Music in the Parks Festival at Kings Island! We take our entire band on an overnight trip to perform and have a fun day at the amusement park This trip is a great way for our students to experience a competitive setting in a more relaxed and fun way.
